Ðulovac Forestry is an integral part of the Croatian Forest Authority Zagreb, Forest Department, Branch Office Bjelovar. It currently employs 53 people full time and considering the amount of work they employ people part time on cultivation jobs. The Forestry exploits two economic units: "Vrani Kamen" on the area of 3.832,96 hectares and "Bastajske sume - Krivaja Klisa" on the area of 2.343,73 hectares, owned by the Republic of Croatia.
Exploitation encompasses annual Cutting and Cultivation Plan in a ten-year semi-period. The annual timber allotment amounts to 45.000 m3 gross timber mass and to fulfil the quota the forestry uses its own capacities and outside services. For cultivation works (habitat preparation, afforestation, filling, grooming, clearing) the Forestry uses its full time and part time employees, but also outside services.
Throughout history, forestry has had a long tradition, especially in Croatia, and in these parts forests have been exploited since the 19th century. The 20th century was marked by a series of organisational and administrative reforms in Croatian forestry and the same is still happening. Apart from timber as one of the products that the forest provides, more and more other useful functions of the forest come to focus, such as soil protection, protection of the roads and other facilities, influencing the water regimen and hydro energetic system, influencing the fertility of the soil and agricultural production, influencing the climate, protection and improving the environment, producing oxygen, cleansing the atmosphere, providing the recreational, tourist and health function and influencing the fauna and hunting.
With the goal of achieving a healthy environment for the future generations and aiming at constant production of timber for the economic purposes the Croatian Forest Authority permanently manages this natural wealth in a quality and responsible manner, setting an example in Europe as well as in the whole world.
